Job summary

WSP USA seeks an Assistant Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support projects in the Atlanta, GA area. You will perform lab classification and index property testing of soils, density testing of soils, and sample and test concrete in the field and lab.

You will analyze data, ensure procedures align with project specs, and travel within a 2-hour radius. Strong self‑leadership, attention to detail, and teamwork with engineers and field crews are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of related experience on variety of complex projects preferred.
• Certifications might include ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, and ICC masonry.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times.
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in variable outside conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check and driving record satisfactory.

Your Impact

• Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
