Job summary

WSP is seeking Construction Materials Testing Technicians to support projects across Augusta, Grovetown, and Savannah, GA. You will perform soil density testing, foundation bearing testing with DCP, and concrete tests on commercial and industrial sites, while interpreting plans and maintaining safety.

The role requires a high school diploma, ACI Field Level I certification, and a clean driving record. You will prepare field reports, interact with client representatives, and stand ready to work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent must have.
• ACI Field Level I certification required for concrete sampling and field testing.
• ICC soils or ICC reinforced concrete or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving history.
• Reliability – punctuality at project sites.
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
• Must pass physical, background check, and driving record per company policy.

Responsibilities

Your Impact

• Perform soil density testing in accordance with ASTM and project specifications on site at commercial construction projects
• Perform foundation bearing testing with dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP)
• Perform sampling and testing of concrete in accordance with ASTM and project specifications
• Interpret project plans and specifications for compliance with projects requirements
• Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations and density calculations and results
• Test and work in accordance with Company safety policies
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications
• Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites
• Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 0+ years related experience
• ACI Field Level I certification (concrete sampling and field testing)
• ICC soils or ICC reinforced concrete or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving history
• Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
• Must pass physical, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Preferred Qualifications

• Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work
• Ability to stoop, kneel and to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds
• Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles
• Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold
