Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast in Santa Maria, CA is seeking an Assistant Club Director for our Fairlawn Club. This hands-on leadership role supports daily operations, staff coaching, and youth‑centered programming in a dynamic clubhouse setting.

You will work closely with the Club Director to ensure safe, engaging activities, strong youth behavior management, and quality programs while building partnerships with families and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience working directly with school-aged youth.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching abilities.
• Ability to supervise staff and participate in day-to-day program operations.
• Excellent communication with youth, families, volunteers, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Support the Club Director with overall operations and programming.
• Coach, train, and provide direction to Youth Development Professionals.
• Create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for youth.
• Provide positive behavior guidance and be a role model.
• Help staff plan activities, programs, and events.
• Monitor supervision and youth safety across program areas.
• Build relationships with youth, families, staff, volunteers, schools, and partners.
• Maintain accurate attendance and program records.
• Assist with staff accountability and problem-solving as needed.
• Keep clubhouse organized, clean, and ready for kids.
