An established industry player is seeking motivated candidates to enhance urban mobility and safety in New York City. This role involves collaborating on innovative street designs and improving capital projects to support vital transportation infrastructure. Transportation Planning and Management (TPM) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible movement of people and goods on the City's streets, supporting the larger goals of economic and social vitality for people living, working, and doing business in New York City. The Division’s responsibilities include roadway project planning, roadway design, technical analysis, maintenance of street signs, transit development, freight mobility, and roadway markings. TPM’s Design & Construction (D&C) unit oversees geometric design elements of NYC roadways, drawing on expertise from Civil Engineers, Urban Designers, Planners, Asset Managers, Inspectors, Administrators, Analysts, and others. They maintain curb geometry, street plans, pavement markings, and oversee the application and refurbishment of NYC’s pavement markings.
D&C seeks self-motivated candidates to assist in creating safer streets through development of bicycle networks, transit, and pedestrian facilities, supporting initiatives like Vision Zero, Better Busses, Green Wave, Open Streets, and Plazas. Candidates will review and improve capital projects, collaborate on final designs of Street Improvement Projects (SIPs), and develop AutoCAD plans. The role requires teamwork, professional development, use of current technology, and effective communication.

Additional details: Remote work up to 2 days/week may be available. The work location is 33-00 Northern Blvd, LIC, 11101. The work hours are 35 hours/week, schedule TBD. Minimum Qualifications:
1. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and one year of civil engineering experience; or
2. A bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in civil engineering.
