Job summary

City of Kingman is seeking an Assistant City Surveyor in the Engineering Department to lead survey crews, direct cadastral and construction surveys, and support CIP and property acquisition projects. You will establish survey control networks and provide technical guidance to engineers and contractors.

The role requires strong leadership, accuracy, and collaboration with city leadership; experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, GIS, and field data collection is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED with college-level coursework in land surveying or civil engineering or related field.
• AS degree in land surveying, civil engineering, or related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree desirable.
• Five years of surveying experience, including two years leading crews; PS Exam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day direction to survey party staff; manage field workflows and project timelines.
• Delineate rights-of-way, establish control monuments, and perform topographic surveys for design projects.
• Draft cadastral maps and legal descriptions; prepare reports using CAD, GIS, GPS data and related software.
