Job summary

The Columbus City Attorney's Office is seeking a full-time Assistant City Prosecutor (Attorney) in the Prosecutor Division. Applicants must be newly admitted to the Ohio Bar with up to five years of experience and ready to perform civil or criminal legal work under supervision.

Responsibilities include managing daily courtroom dockets, presenting cases at trial, drafting court documents, and serving as duty prosecutor on a rotating basis. Evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Must currently be admitted to the Ohio bar and in good standing.
• Newly admitted to the Ohio Bar with up to five years of experience as a licensed attorney.
• Ability to perform legal work of civil or criminal nature under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily assigned courtroom docket.
• Present cases in trial.
• Respond to defense motions on assigned cases.
• Perform research for pending legal cases.
• Draft documents for filing in court such as motions, memoranda, and briefs.
• Serve as duty prosecutor on a rotating basis.
