Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 7 years of related experience or Master’s degree with 7 years of related experience.
• 5 years of supervisory experience required.
• Experience in design of sewer line, water main and street paving preferred.
• Experience in AutoCAD drafting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; coordinating staff training; and supporting personnel procedures.
• Monitors and/or performs planning, design, inspection, and other tasks related to roadway, bridge, sewer, water, building construction, and related capital improvement projects.
• Reviews construction plans for compliance with standards and requirements.
• Manages and administers capital improvement projects, including: resolving conflicts with contractors; managing contracts; managing compliance with plans and specifications; maintaining project budgets; and performing related tasks.
• Assists in developing engineering projects; provides engineering guidance to related departments.
• Responds to questions, concerns, and inquiries from the public, business owners, and others.
