Job summary

UC Davis Health seeks an Assistant Chief Pharmacy Officer to lead strategic planning, financial performance and operational excellence across the pharmacy service lines. The role oversees procurement, distribution, logistics, and inventory optimization to ensure cost-effective, compliant medication supply.

The position liaises with senior leadership to create a culture of open communication and to deliver fiscally viable services within centralized operations, supply chain and reporting.

Qualifications

• California Pharmacist License or license eligible; must obtain license at hire.
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy, or equivalent training
• Completion of PGY1 residency with 4 years of experience in pharmacy supply chain/finance/operations, or PGY2 with 3 years of experience, or 5 years of related experience
• Experience in using or managing EMR and inventory management software for health system pharmacy
• Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis
• Experience in pharmacy supply chain, pharmacy finance, or health system operations management
• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy law, spend management, and accounts payable
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-changing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and drive financial performance within pharmacy services.
• Oversee system-wide procurement, distribution, logistics and inventory optimization.
• Coordinate between UC Davis Health leadership and Pharmacy Leaders to foster open communication.
• Plan and direct business and operating plans with emphasis on spend management and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards across the department.
• Direct departmental activities to deliver timely, high-quality pharmacy services.
