Job summary

UC Davis Health is seeking an Assistant Chief Pharmacy Officer to provide strategic leadership, oversee system-wide procurement and distribution, and drive financial performance. The role collaborates with Pharmacy Leaders to foster open communication and a culture of safety and service excellence.

The position emphasizes fiscal prudence, budget compliance, and the optimization of spend across centralized services and inventory management within a large health system.

Qualifications

• California Pharmacist License or license eligible; must obtain California license at hire.
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or equivalent training.
• PGY1 residency with 4+ years in pharmacy supply chain/finance/operations, or PGY2 with 3+ years, or 5+ years overall in related areas.
• Experience using EMR and inventory management software for health-system pharmacy.
• Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
• Management experience in pharmacy supply chain, finance, or operations.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, spend management, and AP.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication for plans, proposals, and reports.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and adapt to fast-paced environments.
• Capacity to explain complex information to technical and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning and business execution for pharmacy services.
• Oversee system-wide procurement, distribution, logistics, and inventory optimization.
• Lead centralized service center operations and cGMP repackaging activities.
• Direct supervision and personnel development within the team.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and financial controls.
