Job summary

Westin Cincinnati is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to lead building systems and the engineering team. You will manage preventive maintenance, life-safety testing, and ensure code compliance while delivering safe, efficient hotel operations.

Responsibilities include staff hiring/training, scheduling, and budget oversight. A background in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry with strong leadership and communication skills is required.

Qualifications

• HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry experience.
• Leadership and ability to manage a team and schedules.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience enforcing safety, codes, and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of life-safety systems and building operations.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train, and evaluate staff; manage performance.
• Implement and schedule preventive maintenance per standards and codes.
• Prioritize service requests and coordinate timely completion.
• Test and maintain life-safety systems to ensure 100% operability.
• Monitor energy usage and manage budget and expenditures.
• Maintain schedules, logs, and records to ensure smooth operations.
