Job summary

Desert Hospitality Management, LLC Career Center is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to supervise maintenance and repairs across the hotel. You will coordinate projects, manage a team, and respond to guest-related needs while upholding safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on technical skills in electrical, HVAC and plumbing, and the ability to train staff. You will ensure preventative maintenance and budget adherence, reporting to the Chief Engineer.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years college/vocational training in electrical or mechanical engineering or plumbing preferred.
• EPA Level 3 refrigerant reclaim certification preferred.
• Certification and/or license required by law where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and repair operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective work per specifications.
• Act as liaison between Engineering team, Chief Engineer, other departments and guests as needed.
• Oversee maintenance of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, pools, and hotel equipment.
• Ensure safety compliance and administer preventive maintenance program.
• Recruit and staff the department using company standards and conduct training on safety and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour, and health laws; manage inspections.
