As an Assistant Chief Counsel with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, you will be joining a mission-driven agency where your legal knowledge makes a real difference. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role provides legal support for the agency by preparing research, reviewing documents, and assisting with contract matters. As an Assistant Chief Counsel, you will perform the following duties:

  • Legal Research: Analyze procurement issues and review facts to support agency decisions
  • Document Review: Examine legal documents and materials for accuracy and compliance
  • Drafting Work: Prepare memoranda, legal documents, and written materials for Board matters
  • Problem Analysis: Evaluate legal questions that range from routine to moderately complex
  • Professional Interaction: Communicate with officials and the public in a clear and respectful manner
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Graduated from an accredited school of law and certificate of admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Additional Requirement:
  • You must have regulatory oversight experience.
  • You must have experience in legal research involving or pertaining to Commonwealth procurement, contract drafting, and research.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • Employment is contingent upon the completion of a Personal History Questionnaire with a thorough background investigation, including drug screening and the subsequent review and approval by the Board.
