Job summary

Magical Beginnings is seeking an Assistant Director to join our Middleton center leadership team. You’ll help ensure safe, efficient operations, oversee enrollment, staff retention, daily routines, and events, and foster a culture where staff, families, and children thrive.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, EEC Director II Certification, CPR/First Aid, and 2–4 years in an assistant director or lead role.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in early childhood education or related field.
• EEC Director II certification required; include First Aid/CPR and ongoing CE.
• Strong understanding of licensure regulations and licensing visits.
• 2–4 years of experience in an assistant director or leadership role in ECC.

Responsibilities

• Oversee center operations in line with state regulations and company policies.
• Maintain child-to-teacher ratios, safety compliance and licensure requirements.
• Prepare for licensing visits and communicate with licensors.
• Keep staff and child files compliant; conduct monthly fire drills.
• Schedule staff within payroll budgets while maintaining quality standards.
• Lead teaching team through coaching and monthly meetings.
• Foster multicultural, developmentally appropriate curriculum deployment.
• Provide excellent customer service to families and staff.
