Job summary

The Learning Experience in Andover, MA is seeking an experienced early childhood education leader to join our team as Assistant Center Director. You will work closely with the Center Director to guide teachers, manage daily operations, and ensure a high-quality learning environment for children.

You will lead staffing, enrollment, family engagement, and compliance with Massachusetts EEC regulations, while mentoring staff and promoting a positive, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Must meet Massachusetts EEC requirements for the position.
• Director I and Director II qualifications required.
• Professional experience in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early childhood education setting required.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team-lead experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of classroom quality, licensing, ratios, and early childhood best practices.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable coaching employees and communicating with families.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Center Director in daily center operations.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of teachers.
• Coach and mentor classroom teams through observations and ongoing feedback.
• Help maintain appropriate staffing, classroom ratios, and schedules.
• Support implementation of The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
• Maintain compliance with Massachusetts EEC regulations and center policies.
• Build strong relationships with current and prospective families.
• Support tours, enrollment, family retention, and new family onboarding.
• Assist with licensing documentation, staff records, and operational requirements.
• Help plan family events and community engagement initiatives.
• Step into center leadership responsibilities when the Center Director is unavailable.
• Promote a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
