Job summary

Easterseals PORT's Camp Easterseals Virginia in New Castle, VA seeks an Assistant Camp Director to lead year-round programs, support staff development, and coordinate camper services. This hybrid role blends camp on-site duties, office work, and remote tasks.

You will work with the Camp Director and Facility Manager, supervise counselors, organize training, and help recruit international staff. The position requires a bachelor's in human services, strong leadership, and a willingness to reside

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service or related field.
• Minimum of two years supervisory or administrative experience at a camp.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to reside on-site during summer camp and work flexible hours.
• Commitment to inclusivity and safety in camp operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as acting Camp Director in the absence of the Camp Director.
• Reside on-site during summer camp.
• Lead and supervise counselors and staff.
• Plan and implement staff training.
• Recruit campers and staff and build community partnerships.
• Coordinate camper registration and communications.
• Ensure safety procedures and risk management.
