Job summary

Camp Easterseals Virginia in New Castle, VA is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Camp Director to lead and support year‑round programs. This hybrid role blends camp operations, office work, and on‑site supervision, with on-site residency during summer sessions.

You will partner with the Camp Director and Facility Manager to recruit and train staff, manage camper registrations, uphold ACA standards, and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Human Service or related field.
• Minimum of two years supervisory or administrative camp experience.
• Ability to reside on-site during summer camp.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as acting Camp Director in the absence of the Camp Director.
• Reside on-site during summer camp and other residential programs.
• Lead and supervise counselors, staff, and volunteers.
• Plan and implement staff training and orientation.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and outreach.
• Maintain records and compliance with ACA standards.
• Ensure camp safety and risk-management procedures.
