Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking an Assistant Buyer to help develop category assortments and collaborate with buyers across merchandise categories. You will participate in the merchandising assortment process, support line reviews, and help translate data into actionable plans.

Responsibilities include managing in-season performance, analyzing department reports, partnering with Planning, Marketing and Store Operations, and mentoring new hires to drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, merchandising or business related field OR equivalent retail experience.
• 1-3 Years of Experience – Previously in retail, including store level, required.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer or Buying internship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop Category Assortments by category, collaborating with buyers and reviewing the Merchandise Assortment Process and data.
• Manage In-Season Business by updating department reporting and reacting to trends to optimize receipts and stock levels.
• Develop Effective Partnerships with Planning, AR, Marketing, Store Ops and Pricing teams to align category strategy.
• Develop Self and Others by mentoring new hires and sharing best practices across the Buying office.

Education
