Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking an Assistant Buyer to help develop category assortments and support the merchandising team across all steps of the process. This role focuses on collaboration with buyers and vendors to optimize assortment and drive performance.

You will work with Buyers and cross-functional partners to analyze data, prepare line reviews, and execute advertising plans, with emphasis on hands-on execution in omni-channel readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, merchandising or business related field OR equivalent retail experience
• 1-3 Years of Experience – Previously in retail, including store level, required
• Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer or Buying internship preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop Category Assortments and assist buyers in development of merchandise assortments by category.
• Participate in vendor pre-line meetings to review product offerings and gain insight into vendor initiatives.
• Update or create hindsight recaps for previous season to analyze results and make recommendations.
• Research economic, financial, market, competitive data to explain current trends and anticipate big ideas.
• Assist with preparation of line review deliverables, including reporting and sample management.

Education
