Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking an Assistant Buyer to develop category assortments and support buyers across the merchandise lifecycle. You will collaborate with vendor partners and teams to optimize assortments, pricing and promotional strategies.

This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, data-driven decision making, and ongoing process improvement within the Buying office. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail experience is required, with 1–3 years in retail preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in marketing, merchandising or business related field OR equivalent retail experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in retail, including store-level experience, preferred
• Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer or Buying internship preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop Category Assortments by collaborating with buyers and using financials.
• Participate in vendor pre-line meetings to review product offerings and strategies.
• Update hindsight recaps for previous seasons and make recommendations.
• Research market data to explain trends and anticipate ideas.
• Prepare line review deliverables, reports, decks and samples for pre-season reviews.
• Update and analyze department reporting, provide actionable buy-side recommendations.
