Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods in the United States is seeking an Assistant Buyer to help develop category assortments and support merchandise planning. You will sit with the buyer to review the Merchandise Assortment Process and apply financials, while coordinating with vendors for data and seasonal setup.

You will participate in line reviews, monitor department performance, and help execute advertising strategies, pricing decisions, and omni-channel initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail experience.
• 1-3 years in retail, including store level experience.
• Assistant Buyer experience or Buying internship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop category assortments with buyers, collaborating on merchandise planning and financials.
• Participate in vendor pre-line meetings to review products and secure item level data for seasonal setup.
• Update hindsight recaps and analyze results; make recommendations on what worked and what didn’t.
• Update and analyze department reporting; provide actionable recommendations based on findings.
• Own execution of advertising strategy from planning to ad proofing; ensure pricing and copy accuracy.
