Job summary

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, seeks an Assistant Buyer for our Columbus, OH location. This fully on-site role collaborates with customers to communicate order statuses and manages open purchaser orders to keep delivery on track.

You will invoice drop-ship orders, support the purchasing team, and serve as a primary contact for questions. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in a purchasing support, customer support, or operations support role.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• The ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
• The ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure order statuses are communicated.
• Call on, expediting, resolving, and maintaining open Purchaser Orders with updated information.
• Monitor and respond to assortment component needs to ensure on time availability.
• Understand the flow of items from order to delivery.
• Update sales representatives on outstanding sales order statuses.
• Invoicing of drop-ship orders.
• Serve as a point of phone and email contact for Purchasing related questions.

This is a fully on-site position reporting to the office Monday through Friday.
