Anderson Communities in Lexington, KY, is seeking an experienced Assistant Builder to join our Harmony Home Building team. The role focuses on inspecting ongoing and completed work to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with building codes.

You will schedule subcontractors, order materials, coordinate inspections, and maintain field reporting to track progress and costs. This is a full-time, on-site position with growth opportunities within a growing local company.

Would you like to be a part of a fast-paced, growing construction company? Anderson Communities is seeking an experienced Assistant Builder to join our Harmony Home Building team. Our goal is Building Better Communities, and we are looking for a great individual to join us.

The Assistant Builder position is responsible for inspecting jobs in process and at completion to ensure the highest standards of safety and workmanship are maintained. This role also ensures that all projects are constructed to meet safety, quality and legal requirements.

Duties include:

• Kentucky based work, full-time employment, Year Round Work,NOT CONTRACT BASED
  • Inspect jobs in process and at completion
  • Scheduling and oversight of subcontractors and laborers
  • Order required building materials
  • Schedule required building inspections
  • Maintain Field Reporting Software for Scheduling and Purchase Verification
  • Quality Control Inspections at Turnover
  • Monitoring job sites
    - Validating schedule progression
    - Coordinating on-site inspections
    - Validating first pass yield
    - Coordinating “punch outs”

Requirements:

• Framing Experience Required
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Successfully complete pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Ability to work in various weather conditions – heat, rain, cold, etc.
• Utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality
• Preferred skills: Minimum of 3 years of related experience (including scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of residential/commercial construction)
• Ability to read blueprints
• General knowledge of building codes
• General remodel or construction experience
• High attention to detail and quality while also optimizing the performance of people
• Must have good communication and time management skills
