The Assistant Brand Manager supports the Marketing Director in executing brand and marketing strategies across key consumer and retail channels. Working closely with the marketing, sales, and product teams, this role helps bring new products and campaigns to market, manage consumer communications, support retail and ecommerce initiatives, coordinate brand partnerships, and drive awareness through events and experiences. The Assistant Brand Manager will play a hands‑on role in executing marketing plans while helping ensure consistent and effective brand representation across all consumer touchpoints.
Responsibilities
Commercialization Marketing Support
- Support product marketing team on all launch activities for new innovations across digital, social, and in-store execution.
- Develop marketing launch plans for all new innovations, ensuring they receive the appropriate levels of support across owned, earned, and paid channels.
- Provide executional support for launch plans identified above.
- Work with the sales team to identify customer needs and provide marketing support accordingly.
Communications Management
- Assist Marketing Director with planning and execution across all consumer-facing communication channels, including organic and paid social, email, PR, and more.
- Manage social and email content calendar planning and execution around both evergreen content and key tentpole moments.
- Work with the social media team to ensure the right mix of studio, user-generated, and partnership content is in place to help drive awareness across organic social accounts.
- Lead influencer identification, brief writing, and contract negotiation.
- Develop a monthly reporting structure to assess which activities are working and which need to be optimized.
- Work to ensure the brand is engaging with relevant groups across social platforms, including Meta and Reddit, allowing the company to participate more naturally in existing conversations.
Shopper Marketing
- Work with the creative team to develop point-of-sale materials for in-store execution.
- Ensure products are represented appropriately across retailer digital shelves and update creative assets as needed, including Amazon.
- Work with retail media partners including Instacart, Walmart, and DoorDash on paid search programming.
Partnerships
- Serve as the liaison between all product partner organizations, working closely with internal team members on product briefing and execution.
- Ensure products and initiatives are represented where opportunities exist on partner channels.
- Assist the team in routing artwork through partner approval processes.
Ecommerce
- Manage the web development process for new product launches and website pages.
- Serve as the lead on all limited-time offerings (LTOs) across ecommerce, ensuring there is a launch plan in place and volume sales expectations are met.
- Execute LTO launch planning in partnership with external partners.
Events/Tours
- Along with the Marketing Director, assist in executing marketing plans around in-person activities such as tours and events, ensuring attendance and traffic goals are achieved.
- Work to position the brand as a destination experience within the Midwest, creating awareness among consumers already seeking out whiskey-related experiences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of marketing experience, ideally within the alcohol, beverage, consumer packaged goods, or hospitality industries.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience contributing to brand campaigns, product launches, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Hands‑on experience with social media management, email marketing, and content creation.
- Creative thinker with a passion for craftsmanship, authenticity, and brand-driven marketing.
