Assistant Branch Manager - Premium Seafood Distribution

Location: Denver, CO

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Work Style: On-site (no remote/hybrid)

Work hours: M-F 6:30am - 3:30pm

Salary: $80,000-$90,000/year

Position Overview

A well-established international importer and wholesale distributor specializing in premium seafood and specialty food products is seeking an experienced Assistant Branch Manager to support its Denver operations.

This position works closely with the Branch Manager and corporate headquarters to oversee daily branch operations, supervise employees, maintain strong customer relationships, and ensure operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate has experience in wholesale distribution, food industry operations, or branch management, along with strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager in overseeing daily branch operations, including sales, warehouse, inventory, purchasing, and delivery activities.
• Supervise and coordinate sales, administrative, warehouse, and delivery teams to ensure efficient operations and productivity.
• Maintain strong relationships with key customer accounts, resolve customer concerns, and support sales growth and new business development.
• Oversee inventory management, receiving, shipping, delivery schedules, product quality, and warehouse operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, regulatory requirements, and company policies, including documentation and audit preparation.
• Monitor branch financial performance, including sales, gross profit, operating expenses, accounts receivable, and inventory reports.
• Coordinate with corporate headquarters and internal departments to address operational issues and implement process improvements.
• Support employee training, scheduling, performance management, and daily workflow coordination.
• Assume branch management responsibilities during the Branch Manager's absence.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in wholesale distribution, food distribution, branch operations, or a related industry.
• Previous experience supervising employees or coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership, customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with inventory management, logistics, sales operations, or operational reporting.
• Ability to review sales, inventory, expense, and accounts receivable reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business management systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in seafood, specialty foods, or perishable food distribution.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, cold storage, food safety, and inventory control.
• Experience in account management, purchasing, or branch financial management.
• Japanese language proficiency is highly preferred for communication with Japanese-speaking business partners and corporate teams.
