GENERAL SUMMARY

The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in the day-to-day management of branch activities. This role develops new deposit business, provides a high level of customer service, and promotes a strong sales and service culture through coaching, guidance, and staff motivation. The Assistant Branch Manager helps achieve branch sales goals through new business development, referrals, and retention of customer relationships.

The Assistant Branch Manager assumes responsibility for branch operations whenever the Branch Manager is unavailable.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Assist the Branch Manager in overall operational management of the branch, including daily workflow, cash handling, and security procedures.
• Engages in business development activities and solicitation of new business prospects; actively involved in instilling and maintaining a positive sales environment through education of the Bank’s products and services; investigates and follows up on significant changes in status of existing customers; motivates and monitors staff in cross selling and product presentation compared to goals; meets with customers to discuss needs or concerns and outlines appropriate Bank services.
• Advises customers based on knowledge of the Bank’s consumer products and services.
• Performs basic transactions, accepts deposits and payments, cashes checks, and issues various checks.
• Prepares individual daily balance of teller transactions.
• Serves as a mentor and role model for all staff including providing on-site training.
• Opens and services new and existing accounts.
• Orders cash for branch, balances vault cash, buys and sells cash from/to appropriate personal bankers.
• Performs transaction overrides when necessary.
• Performs maintenance on employee accounts.
• Meets with customers to discuss any personal financial needs.
• Provides through customer service (e.g., account openings, changes, and closings).
• Opens and closes branch according to security procedures.
• Voids or overrides transactions, as necessary.
• Greets customers and provides appropriate assistance in daily transactions; addresses inquiries and resolves customer issues.
• Required to participate in training, and comply with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as federal and state banking laws and regulations.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 - 3 years of retail bank experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Required to work a minimum of two Saturdays per month.

HOURLY PAY RANGE

$25.00 - $32.00

The hourly range represents an estimate based on market data for this position. Final compensation decisions are made based on experience, skills, and internal equity to ensure fairness and consistency across our organization.
