Job summary

Excel Academy Charter School is seeking an Athletic Coach to lead daily practices, coach student-athletes at games and events, and support their athletic and academic growth. The role emphasizes safety, sportsmanship, and collaboration with staff, with duties extending to equipment management and event preparation.

The position requires a high school diploma (college coursework preferred) and a flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends, to meet program needs.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead daily practices focusing on skill development and teamwork.
• Coach and supervise student-athletes during games, tournaments, and events including evenings/weekends.
• Maintain communication with coaching staff to support player development and program alignment.
• Uphold school, league, and athletic department policies on conduct and eligibility.
• Be a positive role model promoting academics, responsibility, and sportsmanship.
• Assist with equipment management and gym setup/breakdown to ensure a safe environment.
