Job summary

Responsibilities include coaching individuals, supervising practice, ensuring safety, managing equipment, coordinating with the athletic director, and upholding school policies. Candidates must hold required NJ certifications and residency within NJ.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey instructional certificate or eligibility or county substitute certificate.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the sport, training and conditioning, injury prevention and management.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment and high standards of conduct for athletes.
• Read and write.

Responsibilities

• Coach individual participants in skills for the sport involved.
• Oversee team members; promote sportsmanship and enforce rules.
• Comply with emergency medical procedures for all practice sessions and levels.
• Select team members and verify eligibility per physical and academic requirements.
• Plan and schedule regular practice and attend contests.
• Ensure safety of facilities during practices and events.
• Manage equipment and assist in distribution/collection.
• Assist athletic director with competitions and transportation.
• Recommend equipment purchases and uniforms as appropriate.
• Obtain parent permission and maintain team records.
• Assist in budget preparation and uphold school rules and policies.
