You will collaborate with marketing, creative services, and sponsorship units to drive engagement and revenue.

Qualifications

• Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree with 5+ years of related professional experience; substitution allowed for equivalent backgrounds.
• Ability to lead a media relations team and motivate creative personalities.
• Ability to pitch stories and work with media outlets.
• Understanding of monetizing digital content to meet sponsorship and revenue objectives.
• Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills with stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Athletics Communications/Media Relations unit and coordinate storytelling strategy across social, web and news releases.
• Advise the athletics director on external and internal communications, media statements and interviews.
• Coordinate with creative services, marketing and sponsorship units to align content with revenue and recruiting objectives.
• Recruit and manage student workers and oversee media relations activities for 28 sports teams.
