Job summary

University of Redlands in Redlands, CA invites applications for an Exempt, Full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer who reports to the Head Athletic Trainer and helps manage a medical clinic serving 21 NCAA Division III student-athletes.

Responsibilities include prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation of injuries, emergency care, maintaining records, coordinating medical eligibility, and collaborating with coaches and physicians to ensure student-athlete health and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Physical Education, Sports Medicine, or a related field.
• One year experience in a patient-facing role.
• Must have a current/valid BOC certification.
• Must have a current CPR/AED certification.
• A valid California Class C CA driver’s license with a good driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses, providing medical advice based on evidence-based practices.
• Provides health care services to student-athletes for home practices and contests.
• Provides appropriate emergency care and first aid to all student-athletes.
• Develops patient-specific preventative and rehabilitative programming.
• Ensures updated medical records and documentation.
• Assists student-athletes in completing medical eligibility requirements, including procuring health screenings and appropriate information relevant to their health and safety.
• Collaborates effectively with coaches and department support staff to provide whole-person care with a priority on student-athlete health and safety.
