Job summary

University of Redlands is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to ensure the health and safety of student-athletes in NCAA Division III programs. You will support the Head Athletic Trainer in managing a medical clinic and provide care during practices and contests.

This exempt, full-time position requires evening/weekend flexibility and travel as needed. A Bachelor’s degree, BOC and CPR/AED certifications, and a valid California driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Physical Education, Sports Medicine, or a related field.
• One year experience in a patient-facing role.
• Current/valid BOC certification.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• California Class C driver’s license with driving record requirements; out-of-state licenses valid until appointment; California license must be obtained within 10 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses, with evidence-based best practices.
• Provides health care services to student-athletes for home practices and contests.
• Provides appropriate emergency care and first aid to student-athletes.
• Develops patient-specific preventative and rehabilitative programming.
• Ensures updated medical records and documentation.
• Assists student-athletes in completing medical eligibility requirements and health screenings.
