Gardner-Webb University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Assistant Athletic Trainer position. The university competes on the NCAA Division I / FCS level as a member of the Big South Conference. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, and the position will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise the daily operation of the athletic training room, including developing procedures, schedules, and maintaining equipment.
2. Evaluate athletes and sports-related injuries; design and implement rehabilitation and reconditioning programs; establish care plans and athlete education based on diagnoses.
3. Gather and interpret data from medical records, physicians, athletes, and families, ensuring proper documentation.
4. Evaluate athletes' physical and mental readiness to practice and compete.
5. Communicate evaluations and progress to physicians and clinical staff; coordinate schedules and treatment plans.
6. Document evaluations, treatments, progress reports, and outcomes.
7. Re-evaluate athletes and modify goals and treatments as needed.
8. Apply protective devices like strapping, bandaging, or bracing; identify the need for assistive devices.
9. Provide individualized instructions and documentation for athlete care and home programs.
10. Adhere to NCAA, Big South, and Gardner-Webb University rules and regulations.

Job Requirements

• BOC Certified and eligible for licensure in North Carolina.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
• Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field preferred.
• Previous NCAA athletics experience preferred.
