The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Athletics Department is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to manage athletic training operations for the Men's & Women's Track & Field and Cross Country teams. The ideal candidate will support injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation while working flexible hours and traveling with the team. A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential, along with necessary qualifications and experience in NCAA Division I.
Assist with athletic training room operations for the University of Nebraska Athletic Department. Provide prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to student athletes in the sport of Men’s & Women’s Track & Field / Cross Country including practice and game coverage, and any required travel. Required to travel with the team which will involve working long hours, nights, weekends, some holidays. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Minimum qualifications : Professional degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a CAATE accredited program). Two years relevant full-time experience required. Excellent interpersonal communication skills essential. BOC / NATA certification and ability to obtain Nebraska State licensure required. Emergency response certification (CPR, basic life support) required. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. Preferred qualifications : Two years experience providing treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to student athletes in NCAA Division I. Two years experience covering track & field / cross country program in NCAA Division I. Criminal history background check and driving record review will be conducted.
