Job summary

Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA invites applications for the position of Associate Athletic Trainer. The successful candidate will assist in sports medicine, injury prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning.

You will organize daily operations of the athletic training facilities, maintain medical records, manage inventory, and coordinate insurance billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from an accredited university.
• Experience in athletic training modalities and patient care.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-activity sports medicine setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in injury prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning.
• Organize day‑to‑day operations of athletic training facilities, maintain medical records, and manage supply inventory.
• Coordinate sports medicine insurance and billing, oversee secondary accident policy, and communicate with staff on policies for international students.
• Assist in supervision of graduate assistants and students in the Athletic Training Undergraduate Program, and travel as needed.

Southeast Louisiana University’s Department of Athletics, Sports Medicine invites applicants for the position of Associate Athletic Trainer. The successful candidate will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine with all aspects of Sports Medicine including injury prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning. Also, organize and administer day-to-day operations of the athletic training facilities including, but not limited to, maintaining medical records, supply inventory, coordination of sports medicine insurance and billing, management of athletic secondary accident policy, staff communication regarding international student policies, purchasing, and assist in supervision of graduate assistants and clinically instruct undergraduate athletic training students in the Athletic Training Undergraduate Program. Ability to travel and work nights/weekends as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited university.
