Barton College seeks an Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer to work under the supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. This role involves preventing, evaluating, and managing injuries within the college's comprehensive sports medicine program.
Responsibilities include coordinating medical coverage for competitions, maintaining thorough records, and collaborating with physicians and other health professionals to care for student-athletes.
The Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and supervises the care of student-athletes competing in the College’s athletic programs. The Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management of injuries within the College’s comprehensive sports medicine program.
Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization required. Three to five years professional experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC), State Athletic Training Licensure and First Aid/CPR. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid North Carolina Driver’s license. Knowledge and experience of insurance policies and procedures, submitting claims and explanation of benefits. Basic knowledge of NCAA regulations. Strong oral and written skills; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, and adequate computer skills. High ethical standards and ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, students and other publics. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
