Job summary

Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center is seeking an Assistant Aquatics Director to manage the aquatics staff, programs, and operations. You will interview, hire, train, and evaluate staff, oversee swim instruction, lifeguards, and youth lessons, while maintaining a safe pool environment.

The role requires scheduling staff, enforcing pool rules, and reporting to the Aquatics Director or General Manager. Flexibility with mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

• Select, train, evaluate, and retain aquatic staff including lifeguards, swim instructors, and coaches.
• Enforce JRSSC policies and ensure a safe pool environment with proper procedures.
• Coordinate and teach swim lessons and supervise lifeguards as needed.
• Schedule staff and oversee operations and maintenance for pool facilities.
• Conduct annual reviews and recommend salary increments to supervisors.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain professional interactions with members.
