Assistant Aquatics Competitive Coach needed for the Ogden High/Ben Lomond High Pools year-round swimming lessons program. This part-time role requires coaching across levels, safety compliance, and strong customer service for athletes and parents.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma, one year of related experience, and current safety certifications. USA Swimming/USA Water Polo membership or willingness to obtain is preferred.

Job Title: Assistant Aquatics Competitive Coach Department: Ogden High/Ben Lomond High Pools

Pay Range: Range 3, Step 1

Calendar: Year-Round

GENERAL PURPOSE

Assistant Aquatics Competitive Coach needed for the Ogden High/Ben Lomond High Pools year-round swimming lessons program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Instructs various levels
• Provides a structured format for the proper progression and development at the appropriate levels of the participant.
• Responsible for preparation
• Provides quality customer service, including interacting with participants and/or parents to answer questions and resolve problems.
• Ensures all possible safety measures are observed.
• Communicates, enforces, and complies with all departmental rules and regulations, policies, and procedures. Reports any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
• Responsible for the set-up and tear-down of any required equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SAFETY & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• Completion of required safety training, including SafeSport training for coaches working with minors (USA Water Polo).
• For swim coaches, completion of USA Swimming’s Safety Training for Swim Coaches or lifeguarding certification (acceptable as part of safety training) is required and must be kept current.
• Coaches must maintain all certifications current and compliant with national governing body requirements. Preferred / Additional Qualifications:
• Experience coaching swim team or water polo programs.
• Lifeguard certification with current rescue and response skills.-or water safety and CPR
• Completion of background check and athlete protection training (per national governing body policies). 1 year of coaching experience is a bonus and preferred. Experience coaching swimming lessons, age-group swim teams, water polo, or related aquatic programming makes a candidate stronger and better prepared. Preferred / Additional Qualifications:
• Prior experience coaching or instructing in aquatic programs.
• Ability to communicate clearly with athletes of all ages and skill levels.
• SafeSport or equivalent athlete protection training (especially for water polo coaching roles)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of related experience.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• USA Swimming and/or USA Water Polo membership (as applicable) or willing to obtain upon hire.
• Coaches must be registered with the appropriate national governing body before working with athletes.
• Current CPR, AED, and water safety certification (such as American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or similar nationally recognized provider) or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Position Type: Part-Time

Salary: $15.37 Per Hour
