Job summary

Open Bank is seeking an Assistant Accounting Officer to help manage day-to-day accounting activities, maintain the accounting system in compliance with GAAP, and prepare financial reports for management, auditors, and regulators.

You will balance the general ledger, manage cash balances, and prepare reports such as balance sheet and income statement. A Bachelor's in Accounting or related field and at least one year in bank accounting are preferred; strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
• Willingness and ability to learn new systems or programs without direct supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in balancing general ledger and reviewing daily general ledger changes.
• Maintain cash balance in Due from Banks accounts.
• Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial reports, including balance sheet, income statement, net interest margin, risk based capital, and other analyses.
