Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Halethorpe, MD is seeking an Entry-level Finance professional to provide administrative and financial services to a profit center. The role reports to the Senior Accountant / Financial Manager and supports billing, AR, AP and monthly close activities.

Required is a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; basic accounting principles knowledge and strong organization are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited program.
• Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Able to resolve problems, meet deadlines and escalate as needed.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and accurate.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Data entry and proficiency with databases and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist accountant to ensure client contractual requirements are met in billing and AR.
• Support auditing of client billing and project ledger per GAAP and policy.
• Process AP for vendor invoices; keep accounts current on projects.
• Process AP for subcontractor invoices; ensure lien waivers and insurance terms.
• Assist with monthly close; post or accrue bills and project costs.
• Provide monthly updates to project assets and rentals for insurance docs.
• Assist with project closeout; verify final contract amount and docs.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Other duties as assigned.
