Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team for a fully remote role. You will support the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager with daily accounting tasks and ensure the smooth operation of the finance function.

This role offers exposure to accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, payroll processing, and month-end close, with opportunities to develop across accounting areas in a flexible, virtual team environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant field.
• 2–3 years of experience in an accounting support role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks remotely.

Responsibilities

• Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, including bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Help maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
• Assist with payroll processing and related filings.
• Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures under supervision.
