Job summary

Hood Industries in Beaumont, Mississippi seeks an Asset Reliability Maintenance Planner to drive a proactive, reliability‑focused maintenance program through planning, preventive and predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

You will implement RCA, conduct equipment criticality analysis, deploy PdM technologies, collaborate with engineering and procurement, and drive KPI tracking (OEE, MTBF, downtime) while keeping the CMMS Guardian Web accurate and up to date.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including planning and scheduling.
• Experience with reliability-focused maintenance practices (preventive and predictive).
• CMMS experience to plan, schedule, and track maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

Asset Reliability Maintenance Planner

Hood Industries is seeking an experienced Asset Reliability Maintenance Planner to join our team in Beaumont, Mississippi. This role is responsible for helping drive a proactive, reliability-focused maintenance program through effective planning and scheduling, preventive and predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has industrial maintenance and planning experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting efficient maintenance operations.

Responsibilities-Reliability & Continuous Improvement Focus:

• Implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) effortsfor equipment failures. Utilize RCA methodologies to identify the root cause of equipment issues, not just the symptoms. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve overall equipment reliability.
• Perform criticality analysisof equipment to prioritize maintenance efforts. Classify equipment based on its impact on production and safety, ensuring critical assets receive the most focused maintenance attention.
• Implement and manage Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Technologieslike vibration analysis and oil analysis to identify equipment degradation early and schedule maintenance before failures occur.
• Collaborate with engineering and procurement teamsto identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and modifications that enhance reliability and maintainability.
• Implement continuous improvement initiativeswithin the maintenance department. Focus on areas like optimizing PM schedules, reducing Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and improving maintenance planning efficiency.
• Drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) specific to reliabilitysuch as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and unplanned downtime percentages. Track and report on these KPIs to measure the effectiveness of maintenance efforts and identify areas for improvement.
• Champion a culture of reliabilitywithin the maintenance department by fostering a data-driven approach to decision making and encouraging a focus on proactive maintenance strategies.
• Maintain Guardian Web (CMMS) for managing and tracking Work Orders, Work Requests, PMs, Employee Registry, Equipment Tree, Parts Lists, and Cost Lists.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Production, and other departments to ensure maintenance activities are properly planned, scheduled, documented, and executed.
• Plan and prioritize the mill’s mechanical and electrical maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and work orders.
• Schedule manpower and resources to maximize maintenance effectiveness while supporting production needs.
• Plan, organize, and kit parts, tools, materials, and other resources needed for work orders and preventive maintenance activities.
• Partner with Maintenance and Production to manage additions, deletions, and modifications to PM procedures and ensure the CMMS remains accurate and current.
• Maintain maintenance plans, procedures, SOPs, JHAs, and other documentation necessary for the safe and effective completion of maintenance activities.
• Organize and lead maintenance planning and scheduling meetings.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Associate degree in a technical discipline required.
• Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required, including experience with maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Experience with reliability-focused maintenance practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Continuous improvement experience preferred.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan, schedule, and track maintenance activities.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize work and adjust to changing operational needs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and other departments.
• Ability to work weekends and/or extended schedules as needed based on mill operating schedules and projects.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000
