Responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work performed, improving workforce productivity and work quality by eliminating, in advance, potential delays and obstacles through proper planning and coordination of parts, machine down time and manpower.
Work Location & Conditions
- Daily onsite role at an active mine site in Ripley, MS
- Work conditions may include uneven terrain, ladders, stairs, and exposure to heat, rain, mud, dust, and noise
- PPE required; physically active role in an industrial environment
Key Responsibilities
Safety First
- Perform work in accordance with established safety rules with a goal of ZERO Accidents
- Ensure maintenance employees have the proper tools and training to perform work safely
- Identify near misses and coordinate corrective actions
- Prioritize safety requirements in all maintenance planning activities
Maintenance Planning & Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between Maintenance and plant departments
- Receive, review, and process all maintenance work orders (excluding emergencies)
- Screen work requests to ensure accuracy, necessity, and appropriate scope
- Coordinate with Engineering and Management on work requiring design support
- Develop detailed job plans including labor, materials, tools, and duration
- Estimate labor hours, manpower requirements, and total job cost
- Verify parts availability and requisition materials prior to scheduling
- Create sketches, diagrams, and planning documentation as needed
Scheduling & Execution Support
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance (PM) work with Operations and Maintenance Supervisors
- Maintain and manage work order backlog by priority and readiness
- Develop daily and weekly maintenance schedules aligned with manpower availability
- Issue approved schedules and planning packages to supervisors
- Track work order progress and follow up on completed jobs
- Maintain standard job plans for recurring maintenance work
- Review actual vs. estimated labor and materials to improve planning accuracy
- Maintain shutdown work packages for unplanned downtime opportunities
Qualifications
- Proficiency with an ERP / CMMS manufacturing system
- 2‑year degree or equivalent experience required
- Mechanical and/or Electrical background required (technical school preferred)
- 2–5 years of maintenance planning, manufacturing, or supply management experience preferred
- Strong analytical, mathematical, computer, and problem‑solving skills
