Veros Credit, LLC is seeking an Asset Recovery Specialist to locate obligors and collateral on delinquent auto loan accounts, manage the repossession process from assignment through disposition, and safeguard recovery value while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

You will perform skip tracing, negotiate settlements, screen for holds, and coordinate with licensed agencies to execute repossessions and recoveries in a fast-paced environment.

Competenze

• 3+ years of experience in skip tracing and repossession management, preferably in subprime auto finance.
• Proficiency with skip trace databases and LPR platforms.
• Working knowledge of repossession and collections regulations, including UCC Article 9, Cal. Civ. Code §2981 et seq., Rosenthal FDCPA, FCRA, and SCRA.

• Locate obligors and vehicles via skip tracing and asset searches.
• Negotiate settlements and structure payment plans.
• Screen accounts for active bankruptcy, SCRA protection, and other holds before repossession orders.
• Assign and monitor repossession orders with recovery agencies and elevate aged assignments.
• Negotiate voluntary surrenders and resolve redemption and reinstatement requests.
• Ensure post-repossession notices are issued accurately and on time.
• Coordinate inventories, impound releases, and transport of recovered vehicles to auction.
• Investigate breach-of-peace, wrongful repossession, and customer complaints.
• Track recovery agent performance, fees, and invoice accuracy.
• Document all activity in servicing system.
• Other duties as assigned.

About The Position

The Asset Recovery Specialist locates obligors and collateral on seriously delinquent and defaulted auto loan accounts, manages the repossession process from assignment through disposition, and protects recovery value while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform skip tracing and asset searches using database tools, license plate recognition (LPR) data, and outside skip trace vendors to locate obligors and vehicles.
• Manage inbound/outbound calls to negotiate settlements and structure payment plans.
• Screen accounts for active bankruptcy, SCRA protection, and other holds before assigning repossession orders.
• Assign, monitor, and manage repossession orders with licensed recovery agencies, and elevate aged or unproductive assignments.
• Negotiate voluntary surrenders and resolve redemption and reinstatement requests.
• Ensure post-repossession notices are issued accurately and on time.
• Coordinate personal property inventories, impound and police hold releases, and transport of recovered vehicles to auction.
• Investigate and elevate breach-of-peace, wrongful repossession, and customer complaints.
• Track recovery agent performance, fees, and invoice accuracy.
• Document all account activity accurately in the servicing system.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in skip tracing and repossession management, preferably in subprime auto finance.
• Proficiency with skip trace databases and LPR platforms.
• Working knowledge of repossession and collections regulations, including UCC Article 9, the Rees-Levering Motor Vehicle Sales and Finance Act (Cal. Civ. Code §2981 et seq.), the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (Cal. Civ. Code §1788 et seq.), the FDCPA, FCRA, and SCRA.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage high account volumes with accuracy and urgency.
• Professional, tactful communication with customers, agents, and law enforcement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Available for a flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Salary: $20.00 - $27.50 per hour + Bonus
