Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection Agent in California to help keep customers, teams and brands safe. The role partners with the store Emergency Response Team (ERT) to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies while reducing shrinkage and protecting inventory.

You will work with AP Leadership to investigate and resolve theft, monitor video and RFID data, and participate in security audits and training to ensure merchandise is available for customers.

Qualifications

• Valid security license may be required for this role in certain locations.
• Ability to make and be accountable for decisions with good judgement in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear and concise verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft by using good judgement and conduct quality apprehensions in high shrinkage areas while adhering to policy and AP guidance.
• Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics.
• Drive a shrinkage reduction culture by implementing action plans and merchandise protection standards.
• Support internal theft investigations through methods including exception-based reporting and surveillance systems.
• Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP Leadership and Investigation teams.
• Use video systems to monitor theft activity and support investigations.
• Leverage RFID data to view merchandise movement and aid item-level investigations with inaccuracies.
• Maintain safety and security of customers, employees, and store by responding to incidents and reporting them.
• Lead security audits, participate in store meetings, and lead shrinkage awareness training.
