Job summary

Lowe's Companies, Inc. is seeking a security professional to provide a visible presence, patrols, and incident response across the store. You will de-escalate situations, enforce policies, report incidents, and coordinate with leadership to protect people and assets.

The role requires vigilance in monitoring security systems, conducting investigations, and maintaining thorough case reports, with emphasis on customer safety and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education.
• 1 year retail, security, first-responder, or military experience (or related field).
• State-issued driver’s license.
• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Safety, or related security field is preferred.
• 2 years' big-box retail, security, or military experience is preferred.
• 2 years' experience with detailed incident report-writing is preferred.
• 2 years' experience using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.) is preferred.
• State-issued Security Guard License is preferred.
• First-Aid Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible and proactive security presence throughout the location to deter loitering, vandalism, and other security concerns.
• Perform regular audits on physical security and product protection to ensure proper execution using hand-held mobile device.
• Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior store premises to identify potential security concerns both on foot and by using a company-owned vehicle.
• De-escalate situations involving customers and associates using professional techniques.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, accidents, and emergencies, such as medical situations or fire alarms.
• Collaborate with store leadership and associates to enforce policies and procedures.
• Escort associates or customers to their vehicles upon request.
• Report suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or security breaches to authorities or management.
• Utilize case management system to complete incident reports with details of events and actions taken.
• Utilize video management system to detect and prevent unauthorized activities and complete post-incident investigations.
• Review weekly security reports and respond appropriately; conduct external theft apprehensions per policy and law.
• Interview customers and vendors suspected of theft per policy; report fraud to AP Management and Investigations as needed.
• Attend monthly Safety Team meetings to stay informed on updates and changes.
• Provide SMART customer service through Lowe’s policies and programs.
• Ensure associates have tools and resources to deliver SMART customer service.
• Prepare and maintain case reports related to recoveries, apprehensions, and known theft; record tasks in Case Management System.
• Participate in court hearings if applicable and maintain relationships with local Law Enforcement.
• Validate building security throughout the day (gates, keys, etc.).
