ASSET PROTECTION SPECIALIST (Finance)
Protect company assets through the execution of safety initiatives, inventory recovery, and internal and external theft reduction programs. Assist with reducing lost inventory, time, and assets. Monitor surveillance equipment and partner with the district asset protection (AP) manager to implement and oversee AP initiatives. Identify, observe, and apprehend shoplifters and others involved in criminal activity impacting the company. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to maintain integrity, honesty, and professionalism
- Ability to diffuse confrontational situations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1 year of retail asset protection experience
- Experience with multi-store asset protection
- Wicklander Certification
- Operational knowledge of CCTV systems
Responsibilities
- Conduct plainclothes surveillance to detect internal and external loss within a store environment.
- Conduct investigations and report findings; apprehend individuals involved in illegal acts.
- Comply with all laws and company policies during responsibilities.
- Perform physical security checks and recommend loss prevention measures.
- Partner with law enforcement and prepare case reports for prosecution.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting shrink, safety, and profitability.
- Serve as a liaison to develop solutions to reduce waste.
- Complete detailed reports on AP activities.
- Support the district APM in executing AP initiatives and ensure their effectiveness at store level.
- Assist with investigations and testify in court and hearings.
- Ensure compliance with policies and test security equipment during store visits.
- Travel across locations and work varied schedules, including weekends.
- Work effectively in high-paced, stressful environments and manage conflicts cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding sensitive information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
