Job summary

Wegmans in Lanham, MD is seeking an independent Asset Protection Specialist to help communicate between the Asset Protection team and store leadership. You will partner with management to reduce shrink, analyze trends, and support safety programs while keeping customer service top of mind.

This role requires 2+ years of related experience, problem-solving, effective communication, and a valid driver’s license.

Our security specialists play a critical role helping to communicate between the Asset Protection team and the store leadership group. We’re seeking an independent individual who is task-oriented and can build strong relationships throughout the store while keeping customer service top of mind!

Requirements

• Ability to maintain effective communication and composure in a stressful environment
• Technical aptitude, including advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related degree
• Military, security, loss prevention, corrections or asset protection experience
• Experience as a first responder and/or Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
• Leadership experience

Asset Protection, Security or Military experience; Bachelor's - Related Field; Work Environment Work includes sitting and/or standing for up to 4 hours without a break, walking, occasional bending and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced enclosed environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 10-25 pounds with a maximum weight of force applied of greater than 50 pounds rarely.
