Wegmans Food Markets in Lanham, MD is seeking a Store Security Specialist who can work independently while building strong relationships across the store and prioritizing customer service.

You'll partner with management on asset protection strategies, oversee safety programs, and respond to emergencies, while maintaining composure and clear communication in a fast-paced retail environment.

Formación

• 2+ years of related work experience.
• Proven ability to resolve problems and manage conflict.
• Ability to use good judgment and make difficult decisions that affect safety.
• Ability to maintain effective communication and composure in a stressful environment.
• Technical aptitude, including Microsoft Office skills.
• Valid driver''s license.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor customers, vendors, and employees to prevent loss; investigate shoplifting incidents.

What You'll Do

• Partner with management to implement asset protection strategies that drive sales and reduce shrink; analyze trends, benchmarks, and data
• Execute safety programs to ensure a safe, positive environment for customers and employees
• Build strong relationships with community organizations and emergency responders to enhance safety awareness
• Monitor customers, vendors, and employees to prevent loss; investigate and process shoplifting incidents
• Respond to emergencies and provide ongoing support and guidance to employees and customers
  

Requirements

• 2 or more years of related work experience
• Proven ability to effectively resolve problems and manage conflict
• Ability to use good judgment and make difficult decisions that affect the safety and well-being of others
• Ability to maintain effective communication and composure in a stressful environment
• Technical aptitude, including advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related degree
• Military, security, loss prevention, corrections or asset protection experience
• Experience as a first responder and/or Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
• Leadership experience
