Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union is seeking a Supervisor for Asset Protection and Recovery to lead a team handling third-party collections, foreclosures, bankruptcy, and settlements. You will develop strategies to minimize losses while preserving positive member relationships and regulatory compliance.

This role oversees staff coaching, performance evaluations, and coordination with legal partners and service providers, ensuring accurate monthly reporting to senior management and timely case resolutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in asset protection, collections, or a related role within the financial industry.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a similar setting.
• Equivalent job experience within a financial institution will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Specialists to handle third-party collections, foreclosures, bankruptcy proceedings, legal suits, subordinations, and settlements; promote skill development and morale.
• Develop and implement collections and recovery strategies to minimize losses and maximize asset recovery; coordinate with legal and compliance; assist in monthly reports and audits.
• Oversee relationships with third-party collection agencies, legal partners, trustee company, and other service providers.
• Stay abreast of bankruptcy laws/regulations; manage foreclosure process including REO marketing and liquidation; review attorney referrals and represent the credit union in legal proceedings.
• Oversee settlement negotiations with members balancing the credit union and member relations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
