Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking an Asset Protection Specialist to safeguard assets in a store setting. You will conduct surveillance, investigations, and compliance activities to prevent loss and protect customers and teammates.

You will work with law enforcement, prepare case reports, and travel within the division. Strong communication, integrity, and conflict-de-escalation skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service abilities are expected.
• Demonstrated integrity, honesty and professionalism.
• Ability to diffuse confrontational situations calmly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct plainclothes surveillance to detect loss in store environments.
• Lead internal and external investigations and report findings; apprehend suspects.
• Comply with laws, policies, and procedures during duties.
• Perform physical security checks and recommend loss-prevention improvements.
• Partner with law enforcement and prepare case reports for prosecution.
• Identify and resolve conditions affecting shrink, safety, and profitability.
• Serve as liaison to develop solutions reducing waste across the division.
• Complete thorough AP reports and support AP initiatives.
• Assist the district APM with investigations and store-level execution.
• Travel to division locations and work varied schedules, including weekends.
• Testify in court or labor hearings when required.
