Target is hiring an Assets Protection Specialist in Reston, VA. You will help keep guests and team safe, deter theft, and ensure products are in stock. The role requires being on-site, a willingness to work flexible hours, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Training is provided to cover AP policies and procedures, with opportunities to progress within the asset protection function. Expect a physically active role with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

• Greet guests and assist them to find what they need or resolve issues.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support total store sales, guest service and increase profitability by ensuring product is in stock and available to our guests by preventing and resolving theft.
• Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics.
• Respond to security incidents and document all incidents following AP policy.
• Promote a physical security culture and safety across the store.
